What it answers

The questions that come up before every booking.

Rentals change who holds your stock and when it is free again. As Counted keeps every one of those moves, so the answers come from the record instead of memory or a spreadsheet.

  1. Is it free on my dates?

Availability is worked out for every day of the rental, including bookings already confirmed and stock due back. Confirming a booking checks each day it covers, and refuses it if the stock does not fit.

    own 10 · 3 booked Wed–Fri → 7 free

  2. What is out with customers?

Check items out against a confirmed rental. Stock out on rent is still yours, so it counts as owned, but it is not on hand and not free until it comes back.

owned = on hand + out on rent

  3. What came back, and what did not?

Record returns in part or in full as items arrive. Returned stock is free again at once, and you cannot return more than went out.

    out 3 · returned 2 → 1 still out

  4. What is overdue?

Stock still out the day after the end date is overdue. It stays unavailable on every future day until it is returned, and the bookings it leaves short are flagged.

ends Fri 9 · still out Sat 10 → overdue

Worked example

Three chairs out, two back, one overdue.

A garden party books 3 of your 10 folding chairs from Wed 7 to Fri 9 Oct. This is how the numbers move.

Garden party, 3 folding chairs

1 overdue on Sat 10

Dates are whole calendar days. A rental from the 7th to the 9th holds the chairs on the 7th, 8th and 9th.

Owned never changes. Only where the chairs are does. While the booking is only confirmed, 3 chairs are committed for Wed 7 to Fri 9, so 7 are free to promise for those dates.Returning on the end date is on time. Setup and fit

Start from your spreadsheet. Know the edges.

Import your item list and opening stock from CSV or Excel, check every row before anything is saved, then take bookings. Your team signs in with Google and gets owner, manager or staff roles.

What it does

  • Reservations by date, confirmed only when they fit
  • Check-out against a confirmed rental
  • Partial and full returns
  • Overdue rentals and the bookings they leave short
  • A ledger of every movement, with who recorded it

Worth knowing

  • No same-day turnaround: a rental ending on the 12th blocks the 12th for the next one
  • Check-out opens on the start date, not before
  • Today is the server's UTC date, with no per-business time zone yet
  • Invoice links and payment status are recorded, but As Counted does not take payment

Questions

Frequently asked

Can it show what is available on specific dates?
Yes. Availability is worked out for each day, from stock on hand, bookings already confirmed and stock due back. Confirming a booking checks every day it covers.
What happens when only some of an order comes back?
Record a partial return. What came back is free again at once, the rest stays out on rent, and you cannot return more than went out.
How does it handle overdue rentals?
Stock still out the day after the end date is overdue. It stays unavailable until it is returned, and the confirmed bookings it leaves short are flagged rather than silently changed.
Does stock out on rent still count as mine?
Yes. Owned is on hand plus stock out on rent, so renting an item out does not change how many you own.
Can I import my existing item list?
Yes. Import items and opening stock from CSV or Excel files. Every row is checked before anything is saved.
What does it cost?
One plan: US$149 per month per business, or US$1,490 per year. Five users and every workflow are included. Billing is being set up, and we will confirm your plan with you before any charge.
